SWEEEET (and Rare) Deal on Sweets!

Okay, here's one I've never seen before: B1G1 on Sunbelt Fruit and Grain Bars, and you can print as many coupons as you want (since it comes in pdf). I love not having print limits!

Just "like" Sunbelt Snacks on facebook here, and they'll take you to a pdf with three coupons on the page, and you can print as many pages as you would like :-) I don't know what they're priced now, but I've seen them at Walmart for $1, which would make them $.50 each with coupon.

My Favorite New Coupons on Coupons.com

It may have been a few days since, as I mentioned earlier, I've taken this week as a "quiet week," but there are now some great new coupons on coupons.com. (For those of you who don't know, coupons.com refreshes on the first of every month, and usually once somewhere in the middle with a few more coupons).

Here are my favorites from the last new group:

(coupons.com) - I usually get really good deals on Scrubbing Bubbles products at Target, when I pair
manufacturer's coupons with Target deals and coupons.
to match with deals on refried beans - especially when Albertson's has them on sale for $.50!
Save $1 off any Clean & Clear product (coupons.com) - great to pair with Target coupons, when they have
     them (which is often :-)

There are still GREAT older deals on coupons.com if you haven't reached your print limit yet.

A Quiet Week

I just returned from a few days out of town to this week's ads. I'm always a little excited when I get the new ads - "What is this week going to hold? What kind of deals are possible?" I suppose it's kind of silly to feel that way about grocery shopping, but when you're serious couponer like me, shopping is so much more than an errand....it's a little more like an adventure and competitive game (friendly, of course!) in one.

Oftentimes, there are enough deals to keep me making the rounds to many stores. Sometimes, the deals are outrageous enough for some serious stocking up (like last week). Sometimes, though, it's a "quiet week."

As I turn through the pages of this week's ads, I'm getting the sense that this will be one of those quiet weeks. There are a few really great deals, which I will feature this week, but for the most part I'm not going to be doing a whole lot of shopping....mostly just produce and meat, like every week.

I do enjoy the quiet weeks. It's a good time to use all the great stuff in my pantry and spend my time doing other more important things. I'll get to play with my kids a little more, and maybe do something a little extra to make my house the home I want it to be . Besides, I stocked up plenty last week!

Hasbro Games Deal - Christmas Shopping, Anyone?

I don't know about you, but I'm starting to get anxious to get Christmas shopping taken care of. Here's a great way to start if you haven't already:

Hasbro has a printable $4/any (1) Pictureka, Operation, Connect 4 or Guess Who? Board Game. Target has pretty good deals right now:

     Operation and Connect 4 $9 - $4/1 = $5
     Pictureka and Guess Who? $13 - $4/1 = $9

However, if you have the time, you could print the coupon and wait for a better deal. Chances are good that Toys R Us will have some great deals as Christmas approaches. In the past, I've used this kind of coupon to actually make money on these games! The coupon expires 10/20/2010, so watch and wait :-)

Hot Coupon! Campbell's Select Harvest

Safeway has Campbell's Select Harvest soup on sale 10 for $10

     - $1/1 (campbellskitchen.com) = FREE!

A Giving Opportunity

I love to give, and here's a great opportunity for you to give that costs you nothing....and you'll get some great coupons, too: Sign up for an account at boxtops4education.com. It's free to sign up, and you'll have access to lots of great coupons for Betty Crocker, General Mills, and other affiliated brands.

By using the account, you can generate boxtops for the school of your choice. My kids are homeschooled, but I picked a school in my area I wanted to help out through the site. Sometimes, when I buy enough boxtop-participating items, I earn catalinas at the store that are good for 50 bonus boxtops (= $5 for my school!) to enter into my account. The other day I earned 8 of those catalinas, and was able to donate $40. Pretty cool! I love to give, and here's a great opportunity for you to give that costs you nothing....and you'll get some great coupons, too: Sign up for an account at boxtops4education.com. The Coupon Blog Adventure: Day 1

Welcome to Day One of my newest adventure - blogging! I'm the Happy Coupon Mom. I live in Spokane, WA with my youth-pastor husband and our two busy little boys. I've been a mom since May 2006 & I've been living the couponing lifestyle since January 2010.  Now I want to bring you along on my adventures.

Life can get a little crazy sometimes. It can be hectic and confusing and even a little scary...but it can be very happy, too! I spend my days raising my boys, homeschooling, trying to live a healthy & natural lifestyle, being a pastor's wife AND living on a "shoestring" budget. We've always had to stretch our dollars, but when the economy fell apart, we found ourselves in a situation where we had to keep stretching further than it seemed possible. We didn't know how we were going to do it. We were scared. We prayed. Then, as He always does, God answered. The answer didn't come how we had imagined it might...not through a higher salary. Not through a bonus. Not through the disappearance of our bills (though we were able to cut them drastically!) The answer came through learning how to coupon. Hmph! Of all things....the answer came through those silly little coupon inserts in the paper, and from print-outs on my computer.

I learned how to coupon by piecing together information from lots of other coupon blogs. I invested a few weeks in scouring every coupon blog I could find. I spent about 6 weeks building up my coupon collection. And, then, it took a few more days to figure out a good system of organization for all those hundreds of coupons. With each week that passed, I watched my grocery budget diminish down to virtually nothing, and I saw my ability to give to those in need grow beyond anything I could have ever imagined!

Now, I'm going to try to put it all together for you so that you, too, can enjoy the blessings of God's provision through the world of couponing!  Oh, and since I live for Jesus and love being a mom, you'll hear about that, too! I'm not aware of any other coupon blogs in the city of Spokane yet, so I hope this can be a big help to anyone -- but especially the fun folks in Spokane and surrounding areas. If you have any friends in town, let them know about this blog, too, and we'll all go on a happy couponing adventure together!
